The difference: Iman, Islam & Ihsan ?

Each term are linked to one another

  • Iman is the foundation of Islam and Ihsan 
Iman 
  • Means to know, to believe and refers to knowledge and belief
  • Iman is that you have faith and belief in Allah, His messengers, His book, His angel, and the last day 
  • Prophets (SAW), definition of Iman: Recognize in the heart, voicing out with tongue, preforming with the limbs
The Six Pillars of Iman in Islam
1- Belief in the existence and unicity of Allah.
2- Belief in the existence of Angels.
3- Belief in the books of Allah.
4- Belief in Allah's messengers and that Muhammad is the last of them.
5- Belief in the Day of Judgment.
6- Belief in the Qadhaa' & Qadr (Doom & Divine Decree)

Islam
  • Submissions, surrender and obedience to Allah (SWT) 
  • Technical meaning : submit Allah in the manner shown by the prophet SAW
  • Islam is the submission that confirms and affirms the Iman to be true and genuine. 
Five Pillars of Islam 
  1. Profession of Faith (Shahada)
  2. Pray (Salah)
  3. Alms (Zakah) 
  4. Fasting (Sawm)
  5. Pilgrimage (Hajj)
Ihsan
  • It designates the quality of being good and beautiful 
  • To do every positives quality. It reflects the quality of our actions. 
  • To act as if one is seeing Allah 
  • Aware of Allah's presence
