Week 4 (Module 4): Belief in Rasul & Anbiya, Qiyamah, Qada' & Qadr
The difference between Qada' & Qadr
Qada'
Arabic: placing and deciding a certain
Syarak’s: something that has been decided by Allah SWT for all His creations, whether it is in terms of its creation, destruction or changes.
Qadr
Arabic: setting something to a certain amount.
Syarak: something that has been set at a certain amount since the beginning of time, so that it follows His knowledge which precedes everything.
Qadr is setting an amount or extent of something before deciding that it would happen. While Qada' is making something happen according to a set condition. This means, qadr happens first before qada’, both are complementary to each other and are inseparable.
1. Question asked:
Can we change qada'? (Aliah)
Answer:
Qada’ can be changed through prayer & effort however qadr cannot be changed because it has been set before we were born.
2. Question asked :
Can we pray for a longer life? while death has been ordained by Allah?
Answer:
Yes we can. It is because Allah already know you will pray for a long life and He already know the journey of our lives from beginning to end.
3. Question asked:
We always hear people say forgiveness is easy but forgetting is hard. Are we considered as not accepting qada 'and qadr or is that just a normal thing for human beings not to forget?
Answer:
We are just normal human beings and we are very weak. Hence, it 's a bit difficult for us to forget. But it does not mean we can not forgive. We have to learn to just forgive and let it go and learn from the lesson.
Summary
By: Madam Asmiza
We have to understand that every thing that happens in our lives, not everything happens as what we want. Allah knows what is the best for us because He knows us better than we know ourselves. Sometimes what Allah gives is something we do not expect and like, but we need to be positive because Allah's plan is very beautiful. With us believing in qada' & qadr. That is what differentiates us, Islam from other religions. We have better self healing, higher acceptance level, more positive.
